NEW PICTURES: Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame Museum Redevelopment Update - Feb 2015

Greetings and best wishes for the holiday season and a Happy New Year to all honoured members and friends of the Manitoba Basketball hall of Fame and Museum.

There have been many recent and noteworthy developments at our Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame and Museum and we thought that this would be a good time for an update:

    • at present, our Hall of Fame and Museum does not physically exist
    • our original site was closed down in May to make room for a Mondeta clothing store in the Duckworth Centre and all of our display cases and materials have been in storage since then our new site, which is larger and will have much greater visibility, is under development and is closer to the gym entrance on the 2nd floor of the Duckworth Centre
    • check out our website for details including the architect's drawings, an artist's sketch and some photographs of the construction underway
    • we are very indebted to the University of Winnipeg for its on-going support and commitment to our Hall of Fame
    • any new nominations (players, builders and teams) for our Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame can be submitted until December 15, 2014 - more information...
    • the announcement of our newest inductees will be made at the official opening of our new site in the Spring of next year
    • our fifteenth Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame induction dinner is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2015 - save the date!
The new build currently underway at the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame & Museum at the University of Winnipeg Duckworth Centre is moving along very well.  The new sub-floor bridging the space near the racquetball courts is currently in place and the framing and drywall has just been installed.  The new hardwood floor is going down starting in mid-December.  It is expected the entire project will be completed by the spring.  Stay tuned for updates as things progress!

Once again, the best of the season to one and all. We hope that your holidays are joyous and that 2015 brings good health and happiness to you and yours.
