    Biography
    Dave Guss coached at the high school, provincial, and college levels.
    He coached the varsity boys' basketball teams at Westwood Collegiate
    from 1965 thru 1995. During that period, his teams won threes
    provincial titles, were provincial finalists ten times and were
    conference champions 15 times.
    The Manitoba Basketball Coaches Association selected him Coach
    of the Year in 1981, '82, and '84. Dave also received the Mike Spack
    Award for outstanding contribution to coaching in Manitoba.

    Dave coached at the provincial level as a head coach and an
    assistant coach. As a head coach, his teams won a silver medal at the
    Western Canada Games in 1987 and bronze medals at four of five national
    junior tournaments held in 1982, '83, '84, '85, and '87. He was
    assistant coach when Manitoba's entry in the 1975 Western Canada Summer
    Games won the gold medal.

    While coaching at Westwood, Dave also coached at the
    University of Manitoba from 1973 thru 1982, as assistant coach from
    1973 thru '78 and again in 1980 thru 1982. During the 1978-1979 season
    Dave was head coach.

    For ten years, Dave served on the Board of Basketball Manitoba as the executive member in charge of Manitoba's Provincial Teams.
