A graduate of Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, Marj played for the University of Manitoba Bisons. She was a 3-time GPAC all-star, was selected as the National Rookie-of-the Year in 1994-95, and was a two-time CIS/CIAU All-Canadian in 1996-97 and 1997-98. In addition, she was a member of the two consecutive national championship Bison teams in 1996 and 1997 and was a tournament all-star both years. In 2000-01, she was named the CIS Defensive Player of the Year.
