A graduate of Silver Height Collegiate, Leslie played in the Senior "A" League for the St. Vital "Grads" and the St. James "Lakers". A prolific scorer, she led her teams to five Provincial Championships between 1969 thru 1977.
From 1969 thru 1971, Leslie was the only Manitoban to play with the Canadian National Team, representing Canada in tournaments in Mexico and Cuba in 1969, at the World Championships in Brazil in 1970, and at the Pan American Games in Cali, Columbia in 1971.
