Biography



Lynda (Kidd) Chorley was an outstanding high school player at Hamiota Collegiate 1961 - 1964, setting scoring records every year while leading her high school team, The Atomettes, through zone playoffs to the provincial tournament. She was instrumental in their two provincial championships in 1961 and 1964 and runner up in 1962 and 1963.  In her final year, 1964, she scored 77 points in the three games which led Hamiota to the provincial championship. In the six years she played on the senior girls teams, she scored 2207 points. She led the Western Manitoba league in scoring when she was only in Grade 8 and broke her scoring record in each of the next three years. Her coaches were Gladwyn Scott, Frank McKinnon and the Rev Ralph Clark.

In 1964, she was named "Sportsman of the Year" for South Western Manitoba where she was the first female winner. She also set several records at the Provincial High School Track and Field Championships.

Lynda played for four years at Brandon College where she was an outstanding player with the "Capettes". She was also an outstanding curler and softball player.
