The Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame and Museum was pleased to recently welcome Lorne Wilson, an honoured member of the 1957 Isaac Newton Nor’Westers and the 1958 Sisler Spartans provincial championship teams, and an inductee into the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998.

Mr. Wilson visited our museum space at the Duckworth Centre for the first time and expressed strong appreciation for the development of the facility and the depth of its historical collection. During his visit, he generously donated a significant collection of memorabilia from that era, including newspaper clippings, photographs, team crests, and yearbooks. These materials add important context and richness to the preservation of Manitoba’s basketball history.

We are sincerely grateful to Lorne Wilson for his contribution and support of the Hall of Fame. Donations such as these play a critical role in ensuring that the stories, achievements, and legacy of basketball in Manitoba are preserved for future generations.

The Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame and Museum remains unique in Canada as the only province with a permanent physical site dedicated to honouring inducted members and showcasing the province’s basketball heritage. The Hall of Fame welcomes additional donations of basketball-related materials and is pleased to offer guided tours of the facility to the basketball community and the public.
