A graduate of Kelvin High School, Gordon played for the University of
Manitoba "Bisons", leading the team to the Western Canadian
Intercollegiate Championship in 1932. After graduating from university,
he played in the senior league for the Robertson "Memorials", the
Varsity "Grads", and the Winnipeg "Toilers", where he made his mark as
a prolific scorer.
